J.Lo Look FOTD

February 26, 2008 by Jaclyn Rose

Ok so I decided to try my hand at this particular J.Lo look. The way my eye came out was a tad bit different than the way the MUA depicted it. If I had more time, maybe I would have a different outcome, but other than that, I think it came out ok looking. I definitely need a little more practice.

Products Used: (All MAC unless noted)

Face:
Smashbox Photofinish primer
Studio Fix foundation
Select Sheer loose powder
blush Dame

Eyes:
paintpot Girl Friendly (base for Da Bling e/s, inner lid)
paintpot Nice Vice (base for Sketch e/s, outer lid)
e/s Da Bling (inner lid)
e/s Sketch (outer lid, crease)
blush Fashion Frenzy (on top of e/s Sketch on crease)
e/s Mulch (crease, but just a little bit)
e/s Naked Lunch (highlight)
eyeliner Teddy (upper lashline, lower lashline)
plushlash mascara

Lips:
lipliner Pink Treat
lipstick Plink
lipgloss Cult Fave

This was the only burgundy shirt I had that was not a tank top, so I thought this should fit well with the look I was trying to acheive. I wanted to line my brows to make them a little lighter, but I ended up forgetting to do them. Sometimes I forget to even put mascara on. Does that happen to you too? Happens to me all the time for some reason.

The MUA from MAC gave me a suggestion on how to define the brows, she put concealer above my eyebrows and kind of created the arc or arch (not sure which one, lol), but I saw a difference so I tried it out today. Do you see it? Ok maybe you don't because you don't see me with no makeup all the time. Ok I'm rambling.

awesome FOTD! maybe it's the color of jlo's top, but her eye makeup looks more red...I dunno, could be me, my eyes are tired. but i like the way you recreated this!

mayaari - no, you're right.. haha, i had to look at it again. her eyes have more red hues in it and mine is more pinkish. well I guess i matched more to my top and hers is matched more to her top. hehe. but thanks for the thoughts on this. =)

I love purples and pinks on you. You did a wonderful job incorporating J.Lo's look into one of your own.

christiana - thx hun. it seems like I've been doing so much purple and pink lately. also purchasing so many purples and pinks, LOL. I need to switch it up. maybe I'll experiment this weekend on my days off from work.

lynne - thx twin! are there any celebs out there that inspire any of your looks? I personally like J.Lo (haha, of course), Eva Longoria, Eva Mendez and Jessica Alba to name a few. I guess you can tell all within the same skin tone.
