Makeup Storage Ideas

With my ever growing collection of makeup, which by the way, just won't stop, I've come across the problem of finding places to put it. I know I'm not alone on this as many of you have blogged about it before.

I am always constantly on the lookout for storage bins or drawers wherever I go, but I have to keep in mind that I have just a small corner to keep it all in.

Most of the items I'm using to store my stuff in is from Target. Here is my most recent addition to a "storage solution".

I found this in the office section at Target where all the pen holders, letter holders, file cabinets, etc, were at. I love the design of it and thought it would be perfect for my lipliners/eyeliners and lipsticks.

top drawer: lipliners and eyeliners

bottom drawer: lipsticks and lipgloss

the top drawer of my newly acquired wire drawers (shown in the first pic, top shelf right hand side. This is where I keep all of my MAC eyeshadows, palettes, pigments, paintpots and fluidlines. the bottom drawer (not pictured) is where I keep all my face stuff (toner, moisturizer, foundation, powders, etc.)

small plastic drawers (at Target for I think $5-$7) which used to house all of my makeup, but now is too small. bottom drawer: all other eyeshadows and MAC paints.

middle drawer: concealers, face powders and UDPP.

top drawer: tweezers, eyelash curlers, pencil sharpener and extra hair ties.

Right on top of the plastic drawers: my nail polish and the little japanese kimono girl keychain (well it was until it fell off the keyring) that Mr. Man picked up for me when he went to Japan a couple of years ago.

Those are some storage ideas especially when you have a small space to work with. Hope it helps. And as always, I'm open to hearing other storage ideas you may have and of course will share it with all my readers.

With the way I have my set up, I feel I'm a little more organized. Although, I'm always going to be on the lookout just in case I find something better to fit my needs.

I love those Target storage bins! I've found that the baskets in the $1 section are great for storing lipglosses and lip pencils.

Emilee - I love Target bins, that's where I usually get most of my storage stuff for little things. I was actually there this weekend and found sidewalk chalk and those foam swords for the swimming pool for my kids. $1 each, can't go wrong right?!

Hi Eru, I totally don't mind. I know I get ideas from others and I definitely don't mind sharing ideas with others. I'm glad I can help!

(g) - I bow down to your makeup collection! =)

If I had more space to work with, then I don't know how crazy I would get with buying makeup. Let's just be thankful I don't have much space to begin with. Otherwise I don't know what damage I could do. LOL.

Kia - I have quite a few of the sterilite plastic drawers. Mainly for my kids crayons, pencils and such. Also for my computer room, with all of my computer repair parts. Inexpensive and handy! I actually was at Target this weekend and their womens clothes are cute. I picked up a few in the clearance section at about $5-$6 each. LOVE Target

Tracy - Just remember when you get your own place, the more space you have the more crap you will buy! LOL. That happened to me when Mr. Man and I moved into our own apartment and when we moved in with his mom so we can save money, all of the crap we had is now sitting in the garage and is pretty much useless. haha!

Love and hugs to you JRose. I thought I had issues since I actually catalog my beauty supplies and then I found your site. Such validation! When my daughter asked for eyeliner recently for a New Years event, my reply (to her BF's amusement) was, "mineral, liquid, or gel?"
