This last month or so have been a whirlwind of thoughts, emotions, exhaustion, fatigue, nausea and just plain shock for your friend here at J.Rose Online.
After concrete confirmation I received today, I want to introduce you to...
I labeled the baby's head, but you can look at it upside down, I guess, to figure out the picture. This is the best one that I was given.
Welcome the newest addition to my family. As of today, I am 9 weeks and 1 day according to my last menstrual cycle and the ultrasound I had done today. I am still in shock and have been since that first time I took the home pregnancy test on September 9th.
The last 3 weeks or so have been hell for me in terms of morning sickness and fatigue. Let me just say that the morning sickness is worse than the pregnancies I had with my two boys combined. Well they say that these feelings should let up in the 12th week or second trimester so I am anxiously waiting for that.
And since it's been almost 8 years since the last time I was pregnant, it's all new to me again. Maybe I'll do a Ask J.Rose series on my pregnancy as the weeks and months pass by.
Some questions I have asked myself since I found out:
Were you and Mr. Man trying? No we were not, this was unexpected.
Are you scared? Heck yeah, I am! LOL. I'm actually more afraid of going through the pregnancy and also of the delivery than I am of raising another one.
Ooooh, maybe this is your girl! I am trying not to get my hopes up. As much as I would love to have a girl, I would be blessed either way. I just choose not to think of it because I see it this way, when you want something soooo bad, you tend to get the opposite, am I right?
Do you have names picked out? I have names picked out whether it's a boy or girl.
What are the names? I'd rather not say at the moment. Maybe when the doctor determines the sex of the baby, I'll reveal the name then.
Do you want to know right away or be surprised? I would definitely like to know right away so that way we can start preparing ourselves and buying the correct baby clothes. I have no more boys baby clothes and I do not have girl baby clothes so I'd like to know as soon as possible.
When's your due date? According to the calendar, my due date is May 19.
Is that why you've been all emo lately and haven't been updating your blog like you used to? =) HAHA! Yeah, I just had soooo much to think about this last month. Like I said, I am still in shock that I am even pregnant. Even with proof and the doctor doing the ultrasound in front of me. I still can't believe that there's a little baby growing inside of me right now.
Have you told your boys yet? No we have not told them yet, but we will soon. Will update you all on their reaction.
Well there you have it. This is what has been on my mind. Don't get me wrong, I am happy and glad I can share the news with you all! Now time to gain weight for the next 7 months. =( but =) at the same time.

wow congrats! i dunno what you did during your last 2 deliveries, but i highly suggest NOT getting an epidural if you handle pain pretty well.

@pink - I still have your number in my phone, I'll text you tomorrow so you have my number. I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl. I'm assuming I should be able to find out 1st week or 2 of December. We'll see. my mom and mother-in-law both think it's a girl, but like I said, i'm not going to think about it too much!
@kae - my oldest, I was in labor and delivery for 5 hours and my youngest I was in for only an hour. I was really lucky and I didn't take any pain meds, not enough time, actually. I have a high tolerance for pain, but then again it's been almost 8 years since I had my youngest so I'm hoping this one is just as easy as the other two.

Jaclyn! omgoodness, congratulations! Please keep us updated whether the baby's gonna be a girl/boy :) My friend's having her third baby soon and she thought she was going to have all boys but she ended up with a boy and a girl and the newest one is also a girl! So you never know :) I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. Take good care of that tummy!

hahaha i'm like you then! i went in too late for meds for my second baby. good luck with everything and i hope everything goes well! have you ever done that filipino superstition thing to find out the sex of the baby and how many kids you'll have? i dont really fully believe in that stuff, but my friend did it on me and all her relatives and she said all of em were true, even for the older ladies who were done having kids. it's where u have a ring with a stone or something like it (for weight) and put it on a strand of ur hair that u pull out. and u put it in the palm of ur hand and raise it up by the two ends of the hair and if it swings left to right then its a boy, but if it swings in a circle then it's a girl. or i'm not sure if it was the other way around. then the next time u pull it up and it doesnt swing at all, that means no more kids. so far for me it came out to be true, but if it IS true then i have another girl and one more boy on the way sometime in the future! hahah.

I have the same feeling too, when you want something so bad, you tend to get just the opposite. So sometimes I'd forced myself to want the opposite but I'd still ended up with what I don't want. Never a win-win situation.

@kae - hmmm, i never heard of that one, to tell you the truth. I'm going to see my mom tomorrow so I'll ask her and see what superstitions my family has to find out the sex. Or I'll just wait for modern medicine and wait for that ultrasound, lol.
@mai - I actually gained a few poundage already, but I'm assuming that all went to the breast area because OMG, boobies, LOL! I do have somewhat of a poochie pouch at the moment, but I don't think you can tell at all. I'll be sure to take tummy pictures and post them up as the months go by.
@Lynne - Mama! Thank you so much for the endless IM sessions we've had! It really helped me out a lot! And remember, you know where to find me too!
