Santa Maria High School c/o '99 Reunion

, , ,

Ok so it's been a hot minute since I last updated! I've been keeping myself pretty busy with baby E and the boys.

The boys started soccer practice a couple of weeks ago. At first they were on different teams and had practice on different days so that was actually 4 days out of the week I had to take them to soccer practice. But since they are in the same division, the commissioner of AYSO allowed them to be on the same team! Yay, so now they go to practice on the same days and the same time.

I do have some new stuff I want to post up and I'm not going to make any promises but I will post them up as soon as I get the time to.

Anyways, last Saturday I drove up 3 1/2 hours to my hometown of Santa Maria for our 10 year high school reunion. I was pretty excited about it when I found out that they were organizing one.

Story to follow: Warning: Picture Heavy!

I ended up paying for two to go because I wanted to take Mr. Man with me. In the end, I changed my mind because if I wanted to take Mr. Man it would mean we would have to pack up 3 kids and 2 adults and I thought it was going to be too much trouble.

So what I did was made sure I had a supply of breastmilk in the freezer to last at most 24 hours and took off to Santa Maria by myself. I left Mr. Man at home with the boys.

Since my BFF, Adam, didn't pay for his ticket yet, I had him use the one I payed for originally. So we didn't let that ticket go to waste!

So my day started at 10AM Saturday morning. I headed out to Salon Heaven in Hacienda Heights to get my hair cut and styled by my fave hair guy, Leo. When he was all done, he told me "I don't think I could get you any more beautiful than you are right now!" I swear he knows how to make a girl feel good about herself. HEHE. Here's what my hair looked like after he was done.

yes, I have a LOT of hair! I usually just wear it up in a messy bun. Only because baby E likes to grab at my hair. HAHA.

When he finished cutting it, he informed me that the dyed parts of my hair is almost gone. Yay! as soon as I get my next trim, I'll start to grow my hair out and I will be donating it to Locks of Love. That is my intention since I haven't dyed my hair since way before I got pregnant with baby E.

Before I got my hair done, I did my makeup at home. I went for a neutral eye/red lip combo to go with the leopard print dress I bought. If you would like to know what I used, I'll re-edit and list it. But for the sake of continuing on...

Gas'd up the Explorer, picked up some lunch to go and I was on the road....

BUT!!!! before I got in to Santa Maria, I got a ticket for speeding. BOO! What a way to start my reunion weekend huh?

So I got into Santa Maria and picked up my BFF and we got ready at his salon.

touched up the makeup, threw on some false eyelashes and added a flower to my hair

ready to go, me and my BFF, Adam, in all our fabulous-ness!
dress from Kohls, bracelet and flower from Charlotte Russe, hair by Leo (Salon Heaven) and makeup by me

With butterflies in our stomachs, Adam and I started to head over to the Vets Hall. As soon as we got there, we started to see a whole bunch of familiar faces and the butterflies left. Here's to a night of wonderful memories! I got to see so many folks that I totally remembered from high school and some even before high school. I also got to talk to folks that I didn't even hang out with in high school. All in all, it was fun and I'm glad I did decide to go. Now I'll let pictures and side stories do the talking!

*I must admit, I did get a lil tipsy, you'll probably be able to tell as the pictures progress... that or I just reallllly like to smile a lot! LOL.

for old times sake, here's my senior yearbook picture. it's a picture of a picture. didn't have a chance to scan it. haha, look my hair used to be super short and super black! oh oh oh... look at my eyebrows! OMG! oh yeah! and the dark lipliner too! LOL.

me with Alejandra. This girl did soooooo much to help make the reunion happen! She did such a great job!

w/ Nena and Adam. We used to hang out almost everyday back in 6th grade. We'd go in the tunnel under the 101 freeway to go to the other side where there were a bunch of cows. LOL, don't ask. We rode our bikes everywhere and went on adventures all the time. Dang, I missed her a lot! I haven't seen her since actually when they came to visit LA and I hung out with her and Adam in Hollywood. I was pregnant with my 2nd son at the time. Yeah that long ago!

w/ Adam and Jazmin. Jazmin reminds of the days of junior high with all of our notes and letters we used to pass around to each other! i swear I have all of those notes around somewhere in a box. I soooo want to find them. LOL.

w/ Jerry. I am actually taller than someone I know!!! HAHA! Here you see what shoes I wore with my dress, shoes from Charlotte Russe.

group pics with girls that I know or know of. LOL. oh yeah and one gentleman is in there. Haha, Adam in the back there.

the food line. It stopped because they started playing a video on the big screen so everyone was too busy watching it.

w/ my BETCHES!!! RaeRae and Adam! My grandpa used to live 2 houses down from Rachel's and when I used to stay at my grandpa's house, I was at her house every damn day. We used to karaoke it up at her house! HAHA, I was even hard core into karaoke like I am now. Except the one she had was the one that uses laser discs. LOL.

Eventually I got on the dancefloor. Even though the DJ wasn't that great and some songs I could have gone without hearing, I was in a dancing mood. LOL. Here I am with Nena tearing up the dance floor.

w/ Anthony. We were in the same First Communion class together. That was when we were in 2nd grade! And then the last class I remember having with him was Phys. & Anat. in Senior year.

w/ Jon! Funny story... a few years ago, I was at Greyhound in LA dropping my mom off and then I hear someone call my name. I was like who the heck is calling me? I don't know anyone here! I look up and I see Jon! I was like Wow! what a small world. And that was the last time I saw him before the reunion. He used to always visit me at my mom's store back in 6th grade. lol.

group picture towards the end of the reunion. Can you believe I used to be obsessed with the guy in the black vest doing the two thumbs up? Yup, that was an ex-boyfriend that I dated off and on in junior high and high school. He was one of the few ex-boyfriends I ran into that night. LOL! Awkward? not really. They were all happy that I was doing well in life as I was happy for them also.

w/ Adam, Rachel and Richard in the back there. When I asked Richard if he still lived in Santa Maria, he said "f*ck no" best answer I got the whole night!!!!!

This picture is HILARIOUS! Can you tell someone had too much to drink? Jazmin came to hug me and somehow missed the ledge and fell into the bush! HAHAHA! Priceless!

Since the reunion ended at 11PM and we all didn't want to go home yet, we went to Rancho Bowl to continue partying. This pic is with Steve (Jazmin's LA friend), Jazmin, Adam and Rachel.

Last pic of the night... well at least the last one on my camera. With Steve and Adam.

I had a ton of fun at the reunion and at Rancho Bowl. I saw quite a few more faces at Rancho, but unfortunately, since it was really loud and I was a lil too tipsy I didn't get a chance to catch up with a lot of folks. Some people I even saw that I wanted to catch up with, but got pulled to other parts of the bar. Ahhh well, next time I guess.

I woke up the next morning with a really bad cold though. When I was driving home, the symptoms got worst and by the time I got home, I was in a world of hurt.

I even think I got the baby sick too. Boo, he has a runny nose and everything.

Anyways, going home to my reunion was a short and bitter and sweet experience. It was short because I was there only that night, it was bitter because I got the speeding ticket before going and got sick afterwards and sweet because I got to see soooo many familiar faces! For that, I am happy to say that it was a great weekend!

So Santa Maria, we'll see you in another 10 years!

Hope you enjoyed the look into my past!

You looked like you had so much fun at your reunion! Your hair does look amazing! I especially love the pic when your friend Jazmin fell into the bushes LOL.

I was never a fan of high school so I wonder if my classmates will even recognize me. But I think I'll still go if they host one, cause it'll be nice to see how the people I hung out with are doing. And who doesn't love any excuse to dress up? hehe
