Yet another year passes me by

Hey all! Once again, it's that special day I celebrate every year. The day I call my birthday!

This is what I woke up to this morning...

My Boys are My World!

I was talking to Mr. Man last night and we were contemplating on how much time has passed by. I mean I met him when I was 19 so basically we've watched not only our boys grow up in the last 10 years, we've watched each other grow up in the last 10 years.

Every year, I tell myself, MANNNNNN, I'm getting old. Or my kids remind me, Mommy, you're getting old. This year though, even though I know I'm getting older and my body feels older, I'm not depressed or saddened by it.

I am thankful for my boys, my family, my friends and most of all my husband. Every year I turn another year older only means that it's one more year of memories I've had. With the addition of baby E to our family in the last year, it totally made me realize how fast my boys are growing up. I mean next month my oldest son will be hittin' double digits in age! He'll be the big 1-0.

Yesterday, November 24th, was my mom's birthday. I meant to post something up about her yesterday, but got sidetracked. Anyways, I am very thankful for my mom. We've had our ups and downs and butted heads on more than a few occasions but she is the reason why I am who I am today.

She may have not always been able to be there for me because she had to raise three kids on her own, but I knew that she loved me and my brothers no matter who we were or what we did.

She tried her hardest to give us what we needed and at the time we may have not understood why we didn't get what we always wanted, but now that I have my own kids I know how tough it is.

I know my mom reads my blog, heck she's even on Facebook now. At first I was kind of embarrassed that she reads my stuff, but after thinking about it, since we don't talk all the time, I know this is her way of making sure she knows what's going on with me and I'm totally ok with that now.

All I know is that one my life's goal is to make my mom proud of me, proud of my husband and proud of her grandkids. She did everything that a mom and a dad does for their kids practically my whole life. and I want to make sure I can repay her for the love and affection that she gave and tried to give us (when we were being rebellious, lol).

They say you won't realize what your parent or parents do for you until you have your own kids. Happy Birthday Mom, I love you!

Since my mom and I won't be together for our birthdays/Thanksgiving this year, here is a picture from last Thanksgiving.

And since I didn't get to do much last year for my 28th birthday since I was pregnant and Mr. Man was out of state, I decided to throw a lil shindig at my house this year.

It was filled with good company, lots of alcohol and a buttload of laughs! I want to thank everyone that came to celebrate with me this year. Up next the big 3-0. I may just go Vegas style for that one!! Anyways, here are a few photos from that night! Enjoy.

And once again, Happy Birthday J.Rose!

I had to represent my most favorite team. HAHA and yes the photog was a dude, hence the position of the camera. LOL.

with the ladies of the party!

Chocolate Cake shots made by Mz. Christiana. How to make and take this shot: You cover a lemon wedge with sugar, then you suck on that and let the juice sit in your mouth while you take the shot of a capful of Frangelico and the rest is vodka and down it all at the same time and it tastes like chocolate cake.. pretty yummy!

with the girls that mean the MOST to me! Jackie, Ceejae and Tia!

On another note, I just got a call from the doctor's office today, of all days, and was informed that I have been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid AKA Hypothyroidism. I will be starting treatment for it soon.

I may start blogging about my experiences with it so if you are interested stay tuned. Also if there is anyone out there wanting to offer some thoughts or anything on the subject, please feel free to share it with me. It's something I still don't know much about and anything would help especially if you are experiencing it yourself.
