MAC Give Me Liberty of London and a few others...
So at work on Friday, during one of my quick breaks, I started perusing my google reader and came across a few posts regarding the MAC Give Me Liberty of London collection and saw the swatches. I was like "another collection?"
So I went to the MAC website and checked out what they had, then hopped over to Makeup and Beauty Blog and Temptalia to see some swatches.
I fell in love with some of the items, but had to see them for myself in person. I was going to order online, but a lot of the items were sold out.
When I got home, I told Mr. Man that I wanted to go pick up some goodies and so I did.
I had a few items to use for Back 2 MAC so I thought I'd save me some money and get one of the glosses so that's why I decided to go to the Brea Mall since the counters only let you choose a lipstick for the Back 2 MAC.
FYI: As it turns out, MAC will not let you do Back 2 MAC on limited edition collections.
Here's a breakdown of what was included in this collection.

I ended up picking up both blushes, the Shell Pearl beauty powder because it reminded me of Pearl Sunshine beauty powder from the Barbie Loves MAC collection. I also got 2 out of the 5 eyeshadows because I learned that if it doesn't swatch well on my hand there is no way I can get it to work on my eyelids. Matte and I don't do well together.
I tried to Back 2 MAC for the A Different Groove lipglass but was told that Back 2 MAC does not work on limited edition items. So I was going to just see if I could get something else like an eyeshadow or something.
I ended up swatching a couple of lipsticks, fell in love with the colors and then ultimately decided to keep the A Different Groove lipglass. Arghhh, here I thought I would be saving money by doing Back 2 MAC. HAHA. Oh well, the way I justify it is that I worked 3 hours overtime in the last week so that will pay for my MAC haul!
I also stopped by Sephora because I ran out of my Smashbox foundation primer. As I was checking things out, I came across the MUFE primer. I will give it a try. Has anyone used it? What do you think? While there, I got me more moisturizer as I ran out of that also.
So now on to the pictures of my goodies!

Swatches - L to R: Shell Pearl beauty powder, Prim & Proper blush, Dirty Plum blush (look at how pigmented that is!)

Swatches - L to R: Birds & Berries, Dame's Desire

A Different Groove is on the bottom left. I swatched it next to my other darker plum lippies for comparison. A Different Groove is like Hipster lipstick (bottom right) but a slightly darker gloss version, don't you think? On the top left is Amorous Dazzleglass and on the top right is Hang Up cremesheen. Ok I think I'm done with dark berry lippies for the time being.

And here is A Different Groove on my lips

Lipstick - Creme De La Femme

Lipstick - Pervette

Swatches - L to R: Creme De La Femme, Pervette and Utter Pervette (for comparison)

Pervette on my lips

Creme De La Femme on my lips
So do you plan on getting anything from the Liberty of London collection? Do you ever go in to MAC looking to get only a few things and come out with more than you thought? I seem to do that all the time. ;P

I love the two blushes you got! they're such pretty shades. =D I think that plum blush you have could easily double as an eyeshadow. multi-purpose... although, maybe not, if it's not eye safe. =P LOL.
The colors are beautiful, but I hate the packaging :( I don´t like the birds on it
Thanks for the swatches!
@Christiana Divine @ Memoirs of A Shopping Addict Yes the blushes were at the top of the list for me to pick up and I'm glad I did. As for the Dirty Plum blush, it definitely looks like it can be used as an eyeshadow. There were no paper insert saying that it was unsafe for the eyes so I'm gonna go with yes, you can use it.
@Jenny del Castillo Yeah I'm not too fond of the birds myself, but I do like the flowers on the eyeshadows packaging.
Jackie! I love your new blog layout! So hot! <3 the haul! i went to check out the collection and was going to b2m also. but according to the SA, she said you can't b2m for LE stuff with special packaging. if it's LE with regular packaging, you can b2m. i didn't know that either. but anyway, i picked up a few things as well but so lazy to edit pics and upload onto blogger hehe. a different groeve looks fab on u!
I didn't think much of Dirty Plum until I saw that swatch! Very tempting, but if I do get anything, I'll probably end up getting the BP Shell Pearl cuz it's the only thing I have nothing similar to. Nice haul!
damn i totally skipped out on this collection thinking i dont really need any of the colors. but after seeing ppl's haul...i want it now!! the packaging is too pretty!
Thanks for all the swatchies!!! Ooh those blushes look so purrdy!! Why does MAC always have to come out with cute packaging! Making me wanna spend non existent money! LOL!
@Makeup Geisha Thank you Mama! I know I was a little disappointed when she told me that I couldn't B2M this collection, but it's understandable, limited edition in special packaging. And I feel ya on the editing, this post alone took me the whole weekend ;P
@Imee I know I can't wait to try out Dirty Plum as a blush AND on the eyes, I'll be sure to post up any FOTD I do (that turns out ok, that is)
@Katrina M DO IT! haha, I bet I'm not the only enabler around ;P
@wuzzyangel Aren't the blushes so pretty! I can't wait to use them... Will post up FOTDs soon!
Great haul! I'm loving the new layout, great job.
