If you've been following my blog or my twitter, you know that I've been waiting for the day that Devotion were to perform again. And that day was yesterday.
The last time I saw them perform was back in 2002 before they went to the Phillippines to be superstars over there.

November 2002

November 2010
with 3/4 of the J-Crew (CeeJae, Jacky and me)
*awww look at us... we all grew up =P
To kick off my birthday month, yesterday, BFFs, CeeJae, Jacky and I (the other Jackie couldn't make it) headed over to the Anaheim Heritage Forum to attend the Music Speaks 2010 Charity Benefit for Autism. I went ahead and purchased VIP passes for us ladies so that we can attend the meet and greet before the show.
CeeJae and Jacky got stuck in traffic, but we ended up making it in time and got to meet with the guys to chat a bit, take a few pics and wish them luck before the show.
My day didn't start off so well that morning and it didn't seem like things were going my way.... but the moment I walked in (I was by myself at first) and I saw the guys and got a hug from each one of them, the day just instantly got better! I didn't think I could ever feel butterflies in my stomach, but yeah I was totally nervous seeing the guys again. HAHA, it took me to those moments from back in the day. I felt young again!
Then they wrapped up the meet and greet and we were escorted to our seats. Our seating wasn't that bad, but the wait for the start of the show was. Luckily, I had my girls with me so we passed time with gossiping. Ok not gossip, but just girl talk. And then the show finally started.
We saw a lot of talented YOUNG artists perform. And yes, we definitely felt the age gap. LOL. But aside from the ages, these young'uns put on a great show and did such a good thing helping out for the cause. I definitely admire AJ Rafael for his passion for music and for the cause.
After 6 hours being there, Devotion finally took to the stage and from the moment they started their performance... OH MAN, my heart was racing. I became that young girl again, I LOVED every moment of it!
There's something about me that you may not know. It's just the type of person I am. When I am devoted, I truly am devoted. Not just for Devotion, I'm talking about to every person I care about in my personal life. I am the type of friend who will support you 100%. I have your back, I'll be your shoulder, I'll be your confidante. That is just in my nature, so of course it's no surprise how much I have supported Devotion since the moment I fell in love with them and their music back in 1999. And you can't help but love those guys because they are so humble and definitely so nice! When I saw them, they showed their appreciation and gratitude for me and all their other fans.
Some of my friends, even Mr. Man, joke with me all the time how dorky I am or how stalker-ish I may be when it comes to these guys. LOL. But like I said, if I support you, I don't do it half-assed, you will have my 100% support no matter what. And that's how I am with Devotion. My devotion for Devotion goes to show you what a true friend I can be.
There are a few things in my life that truly make me happy. That is of course, my kids, my husband, my BFFs, World of Warcraft, makeup and the music of Devotion. Pretty simple, huh? =D
And here are a few pictures from the meet and greet before the show. I tried to get individual pics with the guys, but only got 3 as I lost sight of the other 2.

with Devotion. I was all smiles that day!
They performed a few songs last night, including So Wonderful, an acapella of More Than Words and they even had a couple of girls from the crowd come on stage to Name that Tune. The participants won a copy of their CD.
After their performance and after the show ended, we headed out to the lobby to look for the table where they were selling Devotion's newest album, "Last Call". Release date still yet to be determined, but they were selling copies at Music Speaks. So of course, I got a copy for myself, actually 2 copies. We waited a few moments because I wanted to make sure they signed my CD cover and sure enough they all started showing up at the table. I got my CD cover signed as you can see below...

haha they signed it "To: JRose"
LOVE IT!!
As I was chatting with them at the table letting them know what a great job they did, they asked me if I read it yet. I was like "read what?" They opened up the CD and had me read the back part. And lo and behold, my name was in there!!!! OMG, I was speechless... ok no I wasn't because I immediately turned around so I can show CeeJae and Jacky. Wow. I mean I was really shocked and honored that they thought to include me in their Thank You's.

I blurred my last name, but trust me, that's my name =P
Thank you Devotion, Eric, Ian, JP, Richmond and Rodney for sharing your talent and your music. Thank you for giving me and all of your fans something wonderful to listen to all these years. Thank you for coming back and creating this last album. Thank you for all of your performances. Thank you for all the memories I have of you guys and with you guys. I, for one, really appreciate it all. I know this album is your last one, but I have and always will be devoted!
Love, JRose / Your fan for life
